Two people have been charged after they allegedly burglarized the Ravenna golf course and stole golf carts.
Anthony Epp, 24, of Lexington is charged in Buffalo County Court with three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal mischief, one count of tampering with a witness and one count of willful reckless driving.
A 16-year-old Ravenna boy is charged as a juvenile with three counts of burglary and one count of criminal mischief.
According to an affidavit, on July 29, a Ravenna police officer received a report of three burglaries at the Ravenna Golf Course where a cart belonging to the golf course and another belonging to a private citizen were reported stolen from an enclosed building. Another citizen reported his utility vehicle was also stolen.
The two golf carts were later located crashed in a ditch in the 200 block of East Sherman Avenue in Ravenna, while the utility vehicle was located in the 1100 block of Grand Avenue lying on its side.
Ravenna Police later determined Epp and the 16-year-old boy were allegedly behind the burglaries. The affidavit for Epp says the 16-year-old boy admitted to Ravenna Police that he stole the vehicle and purposely crashed them.
Epp’s mother later told police Epp stated he would pay her to lie to them and say he was not involved in the burglaries. Epp denied any involvement in the burglaries.
On Thursday, a judge set Epp’s bond at 10% of $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in Buffalo County Court for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 29.
The 16-year-old boy was ordered to remain in a juvenile detention facility. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 24.
