Woman abducted by suspect in Delaware County murder found safe, police say

Dehmier Harmon was arrested in North Carolina, and Shameeka Thompson was found unharmed with him

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Chester City police say a suspect in a Wednesday homicide was arrested Friday night, hours after abducting his girlfriend.

Pennsylvania State Police said Friday that Shameeka Thompson, 31, was abducted by Dehmier Harmon, 26, after last being seen at about 4 p.m. on West 21st Street in Chester.

Harmon was also wanted for the murder of Leon Culbreath on Wednesday, according to the Chester City Police Department.

In a Saturday morning update, Chester police said Harmon was located Friday night in Fayetteville, North Carolina and arrested. Thompson was found with him, unharmed.

Harmon is now awaiting trial in the murder of Culbreath, according to police.
