OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. -- Okaloosa County deputies arrested a man Tuesday evening for allegedly pushing and punching a child.

Tyler Mead, 23, of Louisiana, is charged with cruelty towards a child - abusing a child without great bodily harm.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the scene of the incident after a witnessed said they saw Mead punch a child in the back of the head and be pushed into a bathroom.

The report states that the witness saw Mead continue to punch the child multiple times, using his fists, while inside the bathroom and had to physically remove Mead away from the child for him to stop.

Mead was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail and released Wednesday afternoon.
