BAILEYVILLE (WGME) – A body was found following a fire at a home in Baileyville early Friday morning.

Crews responded to a fire at 24 Summit Street around 12:15 a.m. for a fire.
Firefighters then discovered a dead adult inside the home.
The body is believed to be 67-year-old Craig Thompson, who lived alone at the home, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
The body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the identity and cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials say there is no indication of foul play.
