The Donovan Mitchell/Knicks trade rumors have died down in recent weeks, with reports that the two sides haven’t talked since mid-July, but Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reignited that hot stove on Friday morning.
Per Scotto, the Knicks, Lakers, and Jazz discussed a three-team deal that would bring Mitchell to New York, Patrick Beverly and “another key Jazz player” (Jordan Clarkson, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Patrick Beverly were listed as candidates) to the Lakers, draft picks going to Utah, along with Russell Westbrook, who would then be bought out.
In this trade, the Knicks would have also had to send Derrick Rose out to satisfy the salary cap requirements.
Scotto also reports that Los Angeles still has interest in Cam Reddish, who could become a part of a potential three-team deal, which was reportedly discussed “a few weeks ago.”
Mitchell is still perceived to be a top target for the Knicks, who are reportedly still seen as favorites to land the All-Star.
