SWOSU is hiring people to fill a variety of positions on its Weatherford campus. From the campus police to the admissions officeand several jobs in between, SWOSU has a variety of careers available to those who want them. To discuss the open positions at SWOSU, employment specialist SarahCreason from the university’s Human Resources department shared about the job openings and the benefits of working for SWOSU.
“We have some part time positions open right now, but most of those are graduate assistant positions, so those are for people who are working on their masters’ degrees,” Creason said. For those positions, the tuition is covered and they receive monthly pay.
“For the full-time positions, most are yearly salaries, and we get paid once a month, but it really depends on the position you apply for,” Creason said.
“When it comes to the benefits, we offer health insurance andvision. We have the option to purchase dental insurance,” Creason said.
In addition to health insurance, SWOSU also offers life insurance and retirement plans.
“We also offer tuition waivers,” Creason said. Dependents and spouses of employees can receive tuition waivers immediately, and employees themselves can have tuition waivers after a semester of employment.
Along with salary, insurance and benefits, SWOSU faculty and staff also get several breaks throughout the year.
“Faculty get almost the same breaks as students. Staff and administration get a plethora of holidays, but we don’t getsummers off. We do have summer hours, though,” Creason said.
Creason said her favorite part of working for SWOSU is the opportunity to assist others in the Human Resources department. “My favorite part is all of the different people I get to help.
