Woman claims domestic dispute and false imprisonment during altercation that left man stabbed

UPDATE - The man involved in the fight was stabbed in the chest, Chico police said.

Before he was rushed to the hospital Chico police claim a woman called dispatch saying she was involved in a domestic dispute while inside a car.

That car was apparently traveling on the Skyway in between Highway 99 and Honey Run Road.

When the car stopped - it was parked near a golf course where police found the man stabbed in the chest.

That man is currently in stable condition, his name has not been released. 

Right now its unclear where that woman is.

CHICO, Calif. - A man was taken to the hospital after a fight with a woman in Chico on Thursday, according to the Chico Police Department.

At about 2:40 p.m., officers received a report of a man and a woman arguing at Skyway and Highway 99.

It was reported that the woman wanted to get out of the vehicle but the man refused, according to police.

They pulled the car off of Skyway near the Skyway Golf Park. A fight followed and the man was injured, police said. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation. 

The incident remains under investigation as officers are gathering more information. 

The golf course is open.
