Local Shooter On Roll In Area Trap Events

Tynan Bennett of Britton, who will be a senior at Britton-Hecla this fall, has been on quite a roll in recent trapshooting events. He swept the junior titles at a shoot in Alexandria, MN, last weekend to go along with championships in South Dakota and North Dakota last month.

Tynan Bennett of Britton continues to be on a roll in area trapshooting events.

The Britton-Hecla senior-to-be competed in Alexandria, MN, last week in the Central Zone shoot. This shoot is held at nine clubs in the Central Zone that includes 10 states and two Canadian provinces and had over 700 shooters competing. Shooters can win at the club and can also can win Central Zone titles.

Bennett swept all the junior categories at the club in Alexandria. He also won the Junior Singles Championship in the zone with a 199/200, a personal best. In addition, he won the Junior Doubles Championship with a 95/100. He did tie another shooter that was shooting in Ohio and they had a virtual shoot-off with Bennett winning with a 39/40 effort.

His handicap championship round was a 96/100 from the 25-yard line which placed him second in the junior category in the zone, missing the championship by one clay.

Bennett’s high overall score was a 675/700, and his high all-around score was 390/400, also a personal best. Both of those scores won the championship in the respective events at the club in Alexandria. These scores also placed him as the top junior shooter in the Central zone in the High Overall and High All-Around categories.

The best shooting performance of Bennett’s career comes on the heels of winning four championships at the North Dakota State Shoot and 10 championships at the South Dakota State Shoot last month.
