Harvest Days This Weekend

Harvest Days is back this weekend with fun activities over all three days. Events take place Friday through Sunday with many favorites on the schedule, some events back by popular demand and even a few new ones.

Friday’s events include an open house , noon meal and door prizes at RPM. There will be free swimming at the pool from noon to 6 p.m. The big Harvest Days parade, with the theme ‘Decades,’ will start promptly at 6 p.m. Evening activities include a movie at the theatre, the dive-in movie at the pool and live music at Snapper’s Dry Bean.

Saturday morning, folks can join in the road race or the sand volleyball tournament. The Lions will be serving pancakes at the fire hall between 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Library activities from 9 a.m. to noon include face painting and an art show with inflatables and a bounce house near the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Kid’s Zone will be open for family fun from 10 to 2.

ColdFront Fitness is back sponsoring the Fittest of Harvest Days at 10 a.m. Marshall Co. 4-H archery will be hosting an interactive demo. The Vendor Fair and Craft Show will be held at the school lobby from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The jigsaw puzzle contest will take place at First Lutheran Church at 1 p.m.

There will be more free swimming at the pool Saturday afternoon and another movie showing at the theatre at 2 p.m. The open talent showcase starts at 2 p.m. A new fun event, the corn shoveling contest, starts at 4 p.m.

Later in the day, the car show will be back. The Weston Frank Band plays live on Main for free from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Kids Powerwheels Races are back at 5:30 p.m. The rib cook off is also back in the evening. People can enjoy ribs for $1 apiece.

The evening ends with the Tripwire Band street dance right on Main. There will be $10 admission for the band.

Sunday events wrap up with a community worship service at Pool Park at 10 a.m. Brunch will be served by the Britton Swim Team at the Fire Hall from 8 a.m. to noon.
