The Marshall County Courthouse clocktower project is nearly done.

Midwest Maintenance Project Manager Jamie Giguere told the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning that just a few items remain on the checklist.  The scaffolding is down, but there are few more areas that need some paint.

“They’ll get done this week and then next week we should get the two windows that were damaged during transport from Marvin Windows,” said Giguere. “We’ll put those windows up and then the landscaping and we’ll be completed until we come back in the fall to do the steps.”

The company will be working to repair the east ourtdoor staircase.

“We were talking about putting the drain in and the drain doesn’t line up where we thought where the exterior goes into the inside.  The steps are pretty much in bad shape. The suggestion would be to pour concrete.  We’ll remove the steps and pour the concrete in lieu of leaving limestone there and repairing it.”

The work on the stairs will be done this fall.

The change order for the stair replacement is $137,017.  Another change order will come for some other work along with that portion of the project.
