In Butte County, firefighters have been sent up to Siskiyou County to help fight the McKinney Fire.
Butte County firefighters who were fighting the Oak fire down in Yosemite were reassigned and are en route to the McKinney Fire, including a strike team, engines and a supervisor.
Cal Fire in Butte County has said they are continually monitoring the McKinney Fire, particularly due to the dry lightening and tough conditions in the area.
KRCR asked Butte County Fire Captain Jacob Gilliam if staffing levels have been impacted by the McKinney Fire.
"In Butte County we are fully staffed, every station is covered as of yesterday," Gilliam said. "We did have a strike team from the Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit ... helping us to fill all the stations. So we are at full staffing."
"We want everyone to know their zone here in Butte County," he continued, emphasizing the importance of Butte County zoning so residents can be made aware of evacuation orders. "... so if by chance there is a fire here in the county that you know your zone and you can safely evacuate when that time comes."
Gilliam also advised calling 4-1-1 to find your zone if you don't have access to reliable internet.
