Firefighters were able to stop the first fire at about a quarter of an acre and the second fire at 1 acre.
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
Coos Forest Protective Association says firefighters were able to get the fires knocked down before the coastal winds picked up and these fires are a good indicatior of how dry grasses and fine fuels are along the south coast.
