Terrie Jo Sinclair, age 52, of Cherryfield, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022, after an extended battle with cancer. Terrie was born Feb. 6, 1970, in Blue Hill, daughter of Terry and Joanna Staples. She received her high school diploma from Ellsworth High School in 1992 and graduated from Eastern Maine Technical College in 1996. She then went on to attend college for addiction and recovery counseling as well as receiving her bachelor’s degree in mental health and human resources. She was also a certified EMT. Terrie successfully has careers as a substance abuse counselor, welder, mechanic, case manager at DK Associates, and she also maintained her own cleaning business in Bar Harbor. Terrie was a big part of the local recovery network, having 22 years of sobriety herself. She was also a faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Harrington. Terrie was an outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and kayaking. She also loved spending time with her many grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Terrie is survived by her loving and caring husband, James Sinclair; her parents, Terry and Joanna Staples; her three children, daughter Joanna Marie Staples her three children Sarah, Austin and Oakley, son Timothy John and wife, Stephanie Treadwell, and their two children Zackary and MacKenzie and daughter Brittanie Eliza and husband, Jonathan Smith, and their three children Kyle, Ethan and Noah. She is also survived by her two brothers, Chris and his wife, Deb Staples, and Keith and his wife, Theresa Staples, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in honor of Terrie on Aug. 20, 2022, at noon at The First Baptist Church of Harrington, located at 1727 Main St., Harrington, ME 04643.
