Virgin Galactic space training camp

TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, New Mexico --

Southern New Mexico is getting a new astronaut camp built by Virgin Galactic. The new camp will be built near Spaceport America in Truth or Consequences.

The new building will have training facilities, accommodations for astronauts, an observatory, and even a wellness center.

The company has yet to set a date for construction but we know it will be soon as the first payload flights are set to take off in 2025. Private astronauts can start going up into space in 2026.

Virgin Galactic hopes to send 400 flights into space every year once the program starts.
