Voters delivered the Republic primary to incumbent state Rep. Andrew Fink, 37, for a second term in the Michigan legislature Tuesday.

Steve Meckley, 54, a Somerset Township trustee, carried Hillsdale County 3,214 votes to Fink's 3,064. Fink won in all the Branch County precincts, which gave him a 1,923 vote margin in both counties.

Fink had support from current house Republicans and local elected Republican officials.

Meckley and Fink both espoused conservative ideas. There was little to distinguish their stands on most issues.

Fink will face Democrat Andrew Watkins of Hillsdale in the November general election.
