Five breweries, local winery to participate in craft beer event at Hayes
FREMONT — Sample craft beer from regional brewers, wine from a local winery and specialty cocktails while enjoying live music Aug. 27 during Craft Beers and Cocktails at Spiegel Grove.
The event is from 5-8 p.m. at Spiegel Grove, the wooded estate of President Rutherford and First Lady Lucy Hayes and grounds of the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums.
Participating breweries will be Buffalo Rock Brewing Co. of Waterville, Earnest Brew Works of Toledo, Findlay Brewing Co. of Findlay, Inside the Five Brewing Co. of Sylvania and Twin Oast of Catawba Island. The participating winery is Chateau Tebeau of Helena.
With an admission ticket, attendees will receive 10 sample tickets to redeem for beer or wine samples, as well as a flight of sample cocktails created by Hayes Presidential staff.
Additional beer, wine and cocktail sample tickets will be available for purchase at the event.
Kitchen 212 will offer up food fare, Toraigh will be tuned up
Food truck Kitchen 212, which serves gourmet artisan sandwiches, will be on-site to sell dinner and snacks. Food truck fare is not included in the general admission ticket.
The band Toraigh will play Irish music on the Hayes Home Verandah. There will also be various raffles and a 50/50 raffle.
Seating is limited, so attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and can spread out on the shady and expansive grounds. People attending must be 21 years old or older and have valid ID.
Admission tickets purchased in advance of the event by 7 p.m. Aug. 25 are $25 for Hayes Presidential members and $30 for non-members. Tickets purchased after 7 p.m. Aug. 25 are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. A designated driver ticket that includes pop and water — but no alcohol — is $10.
