Chaska woman sentenced in Redwood County for drug offenses after deputies find her car

A Chaska woman, Amber Rose Lerbakken, age 27, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for drug offenses after she was found in a car parked in the middle of a Redwood County road.

According to court documents, on July 15, 2021, at about 9:56 p.m., a Redwood County deputy was called to investigate a report of a car parked in the middle of the road on County Road 1 and 240th Street. The person making the report stated the vehicle was not running, had no lights on, and the driver did not appear sober.

Deputies made contact with the driver, Lerbakken, who stated her vehicle had run out of gas, that her license was expired, that she did not remember where she was coming from or going to, that her friends were bringing her gas, and that she had not been drinking.

Deputies noted a glass vial on the passenger seat, and it appeared to contain a leafy green substance. At that point Lerbakken stated she did not know what was in the vial, and walked away from her vehicle.  After failing several field sobriety tests, Lerbakken was arrested. A search of the vehicle turned up 84 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of heroin, packages of marijuana, and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

On July 18, 2022, Amber Rose Lerbakken was sentenced to a total of 78 months in the correctional facility in Shakopee for 78 months, stayed for five years, 270 days local confinement with credit for 181 days time served, five years supervised probation, and fines and fees of $335.
