Soon after wrestling his last match, Ric Flair has opened his first Wooooo! Wings “virtual” restaurants.
Flair, the brilliantly braggadocious pro wrestling legend, is launching the chicken venture in six markets, including two in Alabama: Huntsville and Tuscaloosa. Nashville was the first market. Los Angeles, San Antonio and Jacksonville, Fla. are the other three so far.
Wooooo! Wings is named after Flair’s signature exclamation. In a press release, Flair said, “I love chicken wings and I really love flavors that hit you like a chop to the chest.” Echoing another trademark Flair saying, he added, “To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man, and these championship wings and legendary flavors from Wooooo! Wings are THE MAN!”

A virtual restaurant, aka ghost kitchen, is a “virtual brand” with a business arrangement to use an existing brick-and-mortar restaurant’s facilities to sell a separate menu that’s delivery and/or takeout only.
Virtual restaurants have been trending in progressive markets like Los Angeles, Austin, Texas and Chicago for a while. During the pandemic, they’ve made it into other cities too. For example, virtual/ghost kitchens owned by Food Network star Guy Fieri (Flavortown Kitchen) and YouTube star MrBeast (MrBeast Burger) have been in Huntsville since at least 2020. Some existing local brick-and-mortars use their kitchens to try out completely new concepts, as Huntsville’s Fire & Spice Tex-Mex Smokehouse did with their “virtual restaurant” Heavenly Sinwiches. After Fire & Spice shuttered as a restaurant, Heavenly Sinwiches continues to operate as both a virtual restaurant and now also a food-truck.
For Flair’s Wooooo! Wings, customers in Huntsville and Tuscaloosa order via Uber Eats or Postmates delivery apps. According to the address listed online, the Huntsville location operates out of The Boot Pizzeria, at 11505 Memorial Pkwy. In Tuscaloosa, according to the listed address, it’s Broadway Pizzeria, at 54000 McFarland Blvd. E.
Wing flavors include Buffalo, tangerine habanero, garlic parmesan and lemon peppers. Prices start around $16 for 10 wings. Fifteen wings go for around $23 and 20 for $30. French fries ($6) and veggie sticks (around $3) are the two side items listed. More info at ricflairwings.com and twitter.com/WingsWooooo.
