With the polls opening Tuesday morning, U.S. Senate Republican Candidate Vicky Hartzler was on a 4-city tour Monday across the state. Her first stop was at the Missouri Cattlemen Association headquarters in Columbia. Hartzler had that organization’s endorsement.
The 6-term Congresswoman from Harrisonville also has the endorsement of Missouri Senator Josh Hawley. However, former President Donald Trump refused to endorse Hartzler and said he didn’t think she has what it takes to take on the radical left Democrats. Most polls show Hartzler behind Senate Candidate Eric Schmitt in the Republican race to replace retiring Senator Roy Blunt.
Hartzler said, “I don’t put any stock into the most recent polls which are not representative of voters all over this state. Our polling believes we are really tied for the lead with Eric Schmitt. That’s where this Heartland Tour has really been beneficial as we got out and visited with people.”
Hartzler said she is confident she will win Tuesday’s primary election even though Trump isn’t giving her his support in the race.
Hartzler said, “I voted with President Trump more than 95% of the time. That’s more than anyone else running nationwide for the Senate. I feel good about where we are. I have a good working relationship with him. I look forward to continuing to champion those policies that got our economy going.”
Hartzler also traveled to St. Louis, Rolla and Springfield the day before the August Primary Election.
