Commissioners To Review Preliminary Tax Dollar Requests, Host Budget Work Session

WAYNE – A bulk of Tuesday morning’s regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting will pertain to preliminary tax dollar requests.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the board will begin by hearing a budget request from the Wayne County Library Association for 2022-23 (Heather Headley/Lara Lanphear).

Doug Temme and the Wayne County Ag Society Board will follow with their 2022-23 budget request.

An action item will be brought forward by Joel Hansen with the City of Wayne on the plat of Hochstein Estates, a subdivision of part of the Northeast ¼ of the Southeast ¼ of Section 22, T26N, R3E.

More updates will be provided by Wayne County Emergency Manager, Nic Kemnitz highlighted by FEMA Disaster 4662 along with road and bridge updates from Mark Casey, Highway Superintendent.

Commissioners will also review tax dollar requests and look to adopt allocation resolutions. These would be for Wayne Ag Society, Wayne County Library Association, Carroll Rural Fire District No. 1; Wayne Rural Fire District No. 2; Hoskins Rural Fire District No. 3; Winside Rural Fire District No. 4 and Wakefield Rural Fire District No. 5.

More updates will be provided during the ARPA Fund discussion as the Wayne County Board of Commissioners will recess for a budget work session Tuesday morning.
