A new film based on true events in America’s history is coming our way this fall, Devotion.

Jonathan Majors stars in the leading role as Jesse Brown alongside actor Glen Powell, who portrays Tom Hudner. Actors Christina Jackson as Jesse’s wife Daisy, Joe Jonas as Marty Goode, and Thomas Sadoski round out the cast.

Behind the scenes, the crew includes director JD Dillard, who also executive produces, and writers Jake Crane and Jonathan A. H. Stewart. Molly Smith, Rachel Smith, Thad Luckinbill, and Trent Luckinbill serve as producers, while Glen Powell, Robert Simonds, Adam Fogelson, and John Friedberg take on EP duties.

Devotion will be released on the big screens on Nov. 23, 2022. The movie will first premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, before it’s released to moviegoers.

What is Devotion starring Jonathan Majors about?

The action film is an aerial war epic that tells the true story of two elite U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Jesse Brown (Majors) and Tom Hudner (Powell). The two heroes formed a comradeship and friendship during the Korean War, and their sacrifices would make them the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen, according to Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The action war drama is based on the book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by author Adam Makos. In real life, Brown was the first African American aviator to complete the U.S. Navy’s basic flight training program.
