The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce each quarters hosts a contest to win product from local businesses. This month features paddle boards and life jackets from Food Ranch in Orangeville. Executive Director, Barbie Haeck stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss all the details.

“So the third quarter Paddle Day Giveaway launched at our luncheon last week. The chamber purchased two paddle boards and two life jackets from one of our new members the Food Ranch in Orangeville. Its going to be at seven different locations and we are going to draw five qualifiers from each location and then those qualifiers will be put into the drawing. We’re going to draw for the winner on August 18 at the luncheon at Wingers,” said Haeck. It’s one entry per person/per day and no purchase is necessary. The giveaway locations will be listed on the Chamber’s Facebook page and website.

Board meetings are held every month and the general public is invited to attend these gatherings. These meetings are very informative as Haeck explains, “Well depending on who are guests are we would introduce our guests and then ask for updates from, we usually have someone from Price City Council joins us. Sometimes we have members from Helper City join us and we ask for like city updates. If we have guests, we give them a few minutes to introduce themselves and tell us what they are about, if they have a business, what the business is about and how we can support them.” The meetings are held the first Thursday of the month at 9:15 am in the lower conference room of the Carbon County Administration Building.

Another event that the chamber hosts that the public is welcomed to attend is the monthly luncheons. “We are going to be at Wingers in August on the 18th at noon and our speaker is Rita Vigor from the PTAC. Our business spotlights are Castle Country RV and there’s going to be another spotlight but we’ve made some changes, and I don’t have the final name for that one yet. Then the community spotlight is the Helper Express Playground,” stated Haeck. Those interested in attending the luncheon need to RSVP by August 12 by calling the Chamber office at (435) 637-2788.
