Bob Campbell is the facilities maintenance manager at MMS Aviation in Coshocton.

COSHOCTON – Growing up, he dreamed of building houses. And he did, sort of.

“For 10 years,” said Bob Campbell, “I was a property manager for commercial and residential properties along with being a realtor. Then for the past 18 years, I was a self-employed sub-contractor doing home repair and remodeling.”

Now, Campbell is the facilities maintenance manager at MMS Aviation – a place that serves, as their website says, “missionary aviation by training apprentice mechanics and pilots, and maintaining missionary aircraft.”

“I feel honored and blessed to be part of the work at MMS Aviation,” Campbell said. “I never dreamed of being in ministry, but I’m pleased with where God has brought me.”

Campbell, now 52, grew up in German Village in Columbus until he turned 14, then moved to Harrisburg, Ohio, which is south of Grove City. He graduated from Grove City High School in 1989. He also graduated from Paul C Hayes Technical School in carpentry. Later, he studied real estate at Hondros College in Columbus.

Fast forward.

“Some friends of ours invited us to tour MMS Aviation,” he said, “and that was my first interest in missionary aviation. I could not get the ministry off my mind and after a few months finally applied, not knowing how I would fit in.”

Obviously, he did according to Dave Shelly, the safety officer and IT manager at MMS Aviation.

“Bob didn’t wade in the water slowly, he jumped in with both feet,” assessed Shelly. “His technical knowledge backed by a lifetime of experience was a lifesaver to the facilities maintenance department. He’s a true asset to MMS Aviation.”

“I feel led of God that we are part of spreading the gospel of Christ around the world,” Campbell responded. “I very much do this ministry from the heart.”

MMS Aviation is located at 24387 Airport Road in Coshocton. For more information, call 740-622-6848 or log on www.mmsaviation.org.
