USA Today
Dixie is a Bluetick Coonhound looking for a home.

Dixie is a 3-year-old female Bluetick Coonhound weighing 67 pounds.

She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to being anxious around small children. Dixie is a sweetheart. She loves attention and being with people. Her favorites are playing with water bottles, sleeping on the sofa and treats.

She enjoys walks and does well on a leash. She is crate/kennel trained along with being trained on an invisible fence. She is fearful of guns and does not like cats. Does well with other dogs.

Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75.

Visit the shelter to meet Dixie. The Human Society staff shows dogs 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. After visiting the shelter, visitors may then submit an adoption application for review. The staff does not offer same day adoptions.

The Humane Society of Sandusky County is located at 1315 N. River Road, Fremont. For more information call  419-334-4517 or visit humanesanduskyco.org.
