Former UNC basketball standout Luke Maye will continue his professional basketball career in one of the best leagues in the world.

Luke Maye is heading back to Spain to continue his professional basketball career.

According to The British Tar Heel, Maye has signed a contract with Coviran Granada in Liga ACB. The former UNC basketball standout will now be competing in a league that is regarded as one of the best in the entire world.

Last season, Maye played for BAXI Manresa, as he averaged 8.9 points per game.  He helped BAXI Manresa reach the Basketball Champions League final.

Maye becomes the first player that Granada has signed this offseason. His contract also includes an option for an additional season.

The 25-year-old is entering his third season playing overseas. After spending a season in Italy, Maye went to Spain last season to play for Coviran Granada.

While playing this season, there will be an international battle between two former UNC basketball standouts to keep an eye on. Maye will play against Marcus Paige, who signed with Monbus Obradoiro.

Maye’s play has earned him another contract and will provide him with the opportunity to play against some of the best international talents out there. From what we learned about Maye from his time with the UNC basketball program, we know he’s ready to take on the basketball challenges that are coming his way.
