Happy Shark Week: Watch an elated Rob Schneider feed sharks at an Arizona aquarium

Arizona might not be most people's first choice for places to celebrate Shark Week, but that didn't deter actor Rob Schneider, who recently trained a 7-foot shark in an aquarium near Scottsdale.

The actor, known for his roles on "Saturday Night Live" and in "Grown Ups," spent time getting to know some marine creatures at OdySea Aquarium — on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community near Scottsdale — in honor of Discovery Channel's Shark Week, which started July 24.

According to a press release, Schneider helped prepare the animals' meals, hopped in the water to train a zebra shark and dove into a tank while wearing a SeaTREK helmet to feed cownose rays, Indo-Pacific tropical fish, a honeycomb moray eel and the aforementioned 7-foot zebra shark, which is one of the 40 sharks that call OdySea home.

Schneider announced in December 2020 that he and his family had moved from California to Arizona.
