These 3 Teams Should Still Trade For Knicks’ Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose, New York Knicks, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The New York Knicks have been an active team this offseason. They pulled off multiple deals during the 2022 NBA Draft and before free agency got started so that they had cap space to make some signings.

The Knicks’ biggest signing of the offseason was point guard Jalen Brunson, filling a hole that they have had for what feels like since Walt Frazier.

With Brunson in the fold, along with Isaiah Hartenstein at the center spot, attention has turned to Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz. New York is working hard to bring him back home, but they will not go above a certain price. Unloading all of their draft picks and young players isn’t going to happen.

Even if a deal isn’t made for Mitchell, the Knicks likely aren’t done reshaping the roster. They have too many guys worthy of being in the rotation but not enough minutes to go around. One of the players that could find himself at the center of trade discussions is Derrick Rose.

Rose is a favorite of head coach Tom Thibodeau’s and the team has played very well when he has been in the lineup since being acquired from the Detroit Pistons in a trade in February of 2021. However, some younger players look ready for a bigger role.

While nothing is imminent, as the Mitchell saga has to come to an end first, Rose is someone that could draw interest around the league. While he hasn’t surpassed the 60-games played mark since the 2016-17 campaign, Rose is still impactful when he gets on the court.

Where could he end up should he be involved in a trade? Here are three teams who should still try acquiring Rose from the Knicks.
