MULTI-COUNTY NEW LANDOWNER EDUCATION PROGRAM RESUMES AUG. 19

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s multi-county educational series for new landowners continues next month.

The fourth meeting of the year will take place on Friday, August 19th at the Cat Spring Agriculture Hall.  The program’s topic will be horticulture, covering fruit trees, pecans and grapes for small landowners.

During the meeting, attendees will learn about pecan and fruit tree production and how to start their own vineyards or orchards.

The series is designed to make new landowners in Austin, Colorado, Fayette and Washington counties aware of what types of agricultural enterprises are best for their property.

Registration will take place from 1 to 1:30 p.m., with the program running from 1:30 to 5 p.m.  The cost is $20 per person per session.  Three Continuing Education Units will be offered for all licensed pesticide applicators.
