The Red Ants Pants Music Festival is back for its 11th year. Campers are arriving ready to stay overnight.
Since 2011, thousands of people have enjoyed rocking out to live music at a cow pasture just outside White Sulphur Springs. This year is no different, and tickets are already sold out.
“Half our lineup is actually led by women which is exciting, including our headliner, Grace Potter, who's going to put on a heck of a show Saturday night,” Red Ants Pants Music Festival producer Sarah Calhoun said.
For a city of 900 people, the festival brings in around 15,000 visitors over the course of the weekend.
“Really excited to bring people together to connect with good folks and celebrate rural Montana,” Calhoun said.
However, it's more than just music, it's a mission. A portion of the profits from the music festival go to the Red Ants Pants Foundation. It supports women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches and rural communities.
“Depending on how well each year does, we give money away in grant cycle to support other projects across the state as well as the funds go to support all of our other programs. So we have a girls leadership program and timber skills courses too,” Calhoun said.
The festival runs through Sunday. Organizers hope people can come together and enjoy the music and activities in rural Montana.
