Miss Carbon County and Miss Teen Carbon County stopped by Castle Country Radio to reflect on their reign and what the future has in store for them once they hand over their crowns in August.

Miss Teen Carbon County, Ivy Beecher explains what her platform was for her reign, “My platform is called K.I.N.D.-Kindness In Noticing Differences is focused around diversity and inclusion but most importantly kindness. I wrote and illustrated a book that I went to schools with and I love seeing the kids faces light up. But I also made kindness rocks and put them on the Price and Helper walk paths, so look out for those.” Because Beecher has been Miss Teen Carbon County for a year, she is unable to run again until she meets the age requirement for Miss Carbon County. She plans to return to school in the fall and use the next few years to prepare for the Miss Carbon County pageant.

Miss Carbon County, Peyton Anderson takes time to explain her platform, “My platform is called Look Before You Leave, it is about car safety inside and outside of the vehicle. When I was about 18 months old I got backed over by a car, just because someone wasn’t looking and they couldn’t see me because I was so small. So I just went around to come schools and I talked to the little kids, parents and teachers about car safety and how important it is to stay away from vehicles, even if they are on or off. It was just super exciting.” She is the youngest child in her family and her parents are Troy and Vanessa Anderson.

This year’s competition is set to take place on August 13, and this year’s pageant will be held at Carbon High School instead of Mont Harmon Middle School. “So teens is actually a couple of hours before, theirs is at 4:00 pm and ours is at 7:00 pm. So you can actually go online to https://carbon-ticket.com/misscc/ and buy your tickets there, we’re doing them all online this year, which has made it super easy for us. But basically, the same thing as last year, we’ll just do the competition as usual. Opening number, they’ll do their talents, onstage questions, all the fun things, evening wear,” stated Anderson.
