Proposed new wind farm approved by Hughes County Board of Adjustment (Audio)

PIERRE, S.D.–The opposition nearly doubled the supporters, but the Hughes County Board of Adjustment approved a conditional use permit to allow ENGIE North America to construct a 72-turbine Wind Farm in Hughes County.

The conditional use permit was amended before final approval to include ENGIE and the county finding a mutually agreed upon third party to consider road conditions during the project.
The Board of Adjustment approved the permit 4-to-1. It now moves on the Hughes County Commission for final consideration.
