Grant funding provides some relief for RCH

Following the monthly board of directors meeting this week, Russell County Hospital CEO Scott Thompson said the hospital received around $67,000 in grant funding over the past month, something, he said, that doesn’t get the attention it sometimes deserves.

The grants come from various sources, state government and the University of Kentucky being responsible for the most recent, and allows for the hospital to update equipment when necessary as well as provide updates to the facility’s electronic medical records system, among other needs.

The Kentucky Hospital Association assists the hospital in finding grant funds that could benefit them and their mission of serving the community’s healthcare needs. Thompson said throughout the course of a year, this beneficial grant funding adds up in a sometimes unnoticed but not unappreciated manner.
