Pickerington North mourns passing of sophomore Christian Scott

Christian Scott, a Pickerington North sophomore and multi-sport athlete, has died.

According to a GoFundMe page set up July 27, Scott was involved in a water-related accident July 24 and was unable to recover after spending three days at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Scott was a member of the boys basketball and football programs and was “more than a great football player,” according to football coach Nate Hillerich.

“The loss of Christian is beyond tragic and extremely difficult to process,” Hillerich said. “He had an infectious smile and huge heart. The Pickerington community and our entire football program are heartbroken.”

On Twitter, boys basketball coach Jason Bates said, “Prayers to the family and friends of Christian Scott. To know Christian was to absolutely love him!! We are just heartbroken. Love you always, Chris!!”
