Nebraska's Big Rodeo is back in action starting Wednesday in Burwell.
This year marks 101 years of Nebraska's Big Rodeo, and they don't plan on stopping any time soon.
This year is a little more special than previous years because of a recent induction into the Rodeo Hall of Fame.
Not only does this validate Burwell as one of the best rodeos, it also highlights all the board of directors from the past and present that have made this rodeo so successful.
Burwell is already expecting more people than they have had in the last two years because presale tickets have doubled from years before. However, the President of the Board of Directors Jess Helgoth said he is just excited to see everyone come and enjoy the show in small town Burwell.
“Seeing all the people come to Burwell, you know we are a town of around 1,200 and we grow 15 times that in this week. There will be between 15-20,000 step through these gates for the rodeo,” said Helgoth.
There are over 800 people competing for the title in a matter of four days. The rodeo goes until Sunday.
