After some Portland metro-area cities reached record temperatures on Tuesday, the hot weather is expected to continue Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, the Excessive Heat Warning has been extended for the greater Portland and Vancouver areas through 9 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
According to the KATU weather team, it is possible that high temperatures reach triple-digits again Wednesday and into Friday. They add overnight temperatures will not provide much relief.
Western Oregon and southwest Washington are expected to finally get a break from the heat on Sunday.
Meanwhile, coastal areas will see the most cooling and comfortable weather, according to meteorologist Rhonda Shelby.

Some places are closing due to the forecasted heat.
Mount Hood Ski Bowl has suspended operations Wednesday and possibly Thursday, according to their website.
Officials say it may get up to 80 degrees at Government Camp.
