Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler Says Global Food Shortage Caused by War in Ukraine

(MISSOURINET) –  Russia’s deadly attack on Ukraine has raged on for more than five months and it is affecting our global food system.

Missouri Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler serves on the House Agriculture Committee.

She says barring a worsened drought she doesn’t see a food shortage in the U.S., but other countries will be harder hit.

The World Food Programme says the number of severely food-insecure people around the world has more than doubled over the past two years to nearly 300 million.
