Centura Health partners with Russell Wilson and Ciara’s foundation
LITTLETON, Colo. ( KDVR ) — Centura Health is teaming up with the Why Not You Foundation , created by Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and R&B singer Ciara, his wife, to give nonprofits in Colorado a boost.
The partnership will focus on investments in health equity, education, food security, social justice and supporting children through Centura’s Health Equity and Advancement Fund.
Wilson said he is excited to make a difference in Denver.
“Day one of training camp is tomorrow, which it will be fun, but I think what’s really exciting is day one of just making an impact here,” Wilson said. “It’s what I’m really excited about. That’s what really life is about. Yes, it’s about the Superbowl trophies and Lomabardies, those matter. But what matters most is life, human life, human connection, and how do we do that better.”
Through this partnership with Centura, the groups will make investments in non-profits that tackle issues like health equity, education, food security, social justice and support for children. The partnership will contribute $500,000 annually.
“You meet so many amazing, amazing people that are going through so much trial and tribulation. So, how do you help them?” Wilson said.
During the celebration, the group recognized its first grant recipient.
College Track received $100,000 to help with academic counseling, mentorships and more.
“I know me and Ciara are really pumped to make a difference here in this community and we are excited to partner with Centura,” Wilson said.
Wilson and Centura President and CEO Peter Banko made the announcement Monday.
