TRYON, Neb. (KNOP) - A single-engine RV9A crashed about 20 miles north of Tryon, around 8:40 a.m., Monday with two people on board, according to Crystal Essiaw, Media Relations with the Federal Aviation Administration, (FAA).

Two passengers in the aircraft died in the crash. The identity of the two individuals is not being released at this time.

Multiple agencies are involved in the investigation. The agencies are the Federal Aviation Administration, McPherson County Sheriff’s Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol.

The plane was flying from Greeley, Colorado to Cherokee, Iowa. Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is in charge of the investigation.
