Jaelan Phillips reveals he’s hosting charity event to help incarcerated youth in South Florida

Miami Dolphins pass rusher Jaelan Phillips had a pretty phenomenal rookie season. In 17 games and five starts, Phillips finished with 42 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

While he’s surely spending much of his time this summer working hard on his craft to make sure that he continues his progression in the league and avoids a sophomore slump, he’s also spending time giving back to the South Florida community.

On Thursday, Phillips took to social media to announce that he’ll be hosting a charity event to raise awareness and support for incarcerated youth in the South Florida area. He also promoted a silent auction that is a part of the charity event.

It’s fantastic to see that Phillips is using his fame and fortune to help those in need within the South Florida community. Clearly, he is making a real point of being a positive force.

Interestingly, it seems as though Phillips is already following the wise words that his new teammate Teddy Bridgewater recently posted about on social media. Bridgewater posted a message reminding youngsters that a “tough guy image” is not needed to succeed as a professional athlete.

The message made the rounds on many media platforms. NBA icon and former Miami Heat superstar LeBron James even promoted the message.

Based on Bridgewater’s strong words and Phillips’ selfless actions, it seems clear that there are a lot of great guys on the Dolphins roster heading into the 2022 NFL regular season. Hopefully, that can lead to a lot of camaraderie in the locker room and success in the upcoming campaign.
