I found my quilted heart last Saturday June 16th, 2022. It was late afternoon when I forced myself to leave the house and go downtown.
I really didn’t want to go. I was tired, and a bit down. Nevertheless in the end I forced myself and went.
I remember parking the car across the street from the post office, walking directly to a clothing store that had recently opened.
Once I turned around to go pick up the mail, that’s when I saw it!!!!
A perfectly intact, not stepped on, pristine, faced upside down “quilted heart”! I was so surprised!!!
It looked so lovely, and while I was picking it up, I thought that most likely someone had probably lost the pretty, lovely heart. My first thought was to leave it at the post office, to give the owner a chance to find it again, but once I turned the quilted heart around, and saw the little sign, I wasn’t so sure what to make of it. I remember thinking that maybe it was a way to do fundraising for homeless people in town, or something similar to that. I couldn’t stop looking at it, admiring all the lovely, joyful details, realizing that the quilted heart could/would be mine.
I couldn’t wait to know more, therefore as soon as I got home, I showed it to my husband, and looked it up online.
I was so overjoyed!!!! Reading about IFAQH, and discovering that a community of volunteers was placing small quilted hearts around the globe to brighten the day of strangers, made me SO HAPPY!!!
It really made my day! You guys are all exceptionally great, and I admire your generous, heartfelt, playful and joyful gesture!
Thank you so much!
Love and hugs to you all!
