The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $3 million to resurface 12.7 miles of M-28 from Old M-28 to the M-64 north junction in Ontonagon and Gogebic counties. Work includes asphalt cold milling and resurfacing, shoulder widening, aggregate shoulders, concrete curb and gutter, and pavement markings.
The work is scheduled to start on Monday and last through September.
Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures via traffic regulators during the project.
This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
