More concerts coming to CNY: Young M.A., Trey Lewis, Amanda Shires, burlesque

Some more concerts coming to Central New York have been recently announced.

Brooklyn rapper Young M.A., Flipp Dinero and HotBoii will bring “Island Summer” to the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse on Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. Young M.A. is a female hip-hop star known for appearances on Vice News Tonight and other TV shows, plus hit songs like “Ooouuu,” “Big” and the Eminem collaboration “Unaccommodating.” Flipp Dinero hits include “Leave Me Alone” and “How I Move” (feat. Lil Baby).

Tickets for Young M.A. are on sale through Ticketmaster. A limited number of pre-show meet-and-greets are available.

Trey Lewis, a country singer best known for the viral, R-rated hit “Dicked Down in Dallas,” will perform at Kegs Canalside in Jordan on Oct. 14. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 18-and-over show.

Tickets are $20 through kegscanalside.net. Other upcoming Kegs Canalside concerts include Puddle of Mudd on Sept. 30 and Neal McCoy on Nov. 19.

Amanda Shires will perform at the Center for the Arts in Homer on Sept. 19 as part of her 2022 tour promoting her new album “Take It Like a Man.” Shires, a Grammy- and Americana award-winning singer-songwriter and fiddle player from Texas, is also known for her work with Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and The Highwomen (with Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris and Natalie Hemby).

Tickets for Shires are on sale via Eventbrite. General admission tickets are $25; discounts are available for seniors and center members, and free tickets are available for active military and veterans.

Other upcoming concerts at the Homer Center for the Arts include Deer Tick (July 31), Croce Plays Croce (Aug. 12), Kathleen Edwards (Aug. 25), Glenn Tilbrook (Sept. 17), and the “So Good Music Series.

Christian music singer and rapper TobyMac will perform at The Stanley Theatre in Utica on Oct. 7. Singer-songwriter Terrian will open the “night of music and encouragement” at 7 p.m.

The L.A. burlesque troupe The LaLas is coming to del Lago Resort & Casino’s Vine Showroom in Waterloo for a show on Saturday, Aug. 6. The hilarious and sexy performance features women dancing to classic rock and blues music that promises to have fans “at the edge of your seat, jaw dropped, and hootin’ and hollerin’ like you’ve never thought possible.”

The Great Salt City Blues Concert 6 has been booked for Dec. 26 at the Palace Theatre on James Street in Eastwood. A group of Syracuse-area musicians will pay tribute to blues legends as a special holiday concert.

The Silverwood Clarinet Choir is presenting a free outdoor concert with guest conducts Frederick Willard (on keyboard) and Ron Stewart (trumpet soloist) on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 6 p.m. The program will feature music for everyone, including Mozart, Ellington, Gershwin, Bernstein, Mancini, Berlin, Jacob and others.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and drink/snack to 4111 Pompey Center Road in Manlius. Pre-registration is suggested on Facebook or silverwoodclarinet.com.
