Louisa County Conservation has scheduled a Family Campout at Langwood Education Center on Thursday August 11 through Friday morning August 12.

The event is designed to take away some of the stresses that families may have when preparing for a campout.

Naturalist and Environmental Education Coordinator for Louisa County Conservation Lana Artz-McComb explains how it works, “A way to get families introduced to camping without the pressure of having to find your own camping spot, plan meals, build a fire by yourself, we feel like there’s a lot of barriers for first time campers and we want to take some of the pressure off of that by putting that on our Louisa County Conservation staff so that families can come out and get a taste of what tent camping is like.”

Cost is $15 per family. The fee covers dinner, bedtime snack, craft supplies and breakfast.
