Cydney Henderson of USA Today reports that Juan Soto‘s agent confirmed that the Washington Nationals “refused” to charter him a flight to the Home Run Derby, after he rejected their $440M contract extension. Soto flew commercial, arrived in LA at 1:30 a.m, then won the Derby.

After pitching a scoreless sixth inning in the All-Star game, Nester Cortes proposed to his girlfriend after the game, according to Matthew Neschis of the New York Post. Cortes wrote on Instagram: “All Star week made 2 of my dreams come true, pitch in an all star game. And propose to my bestfriend. With my parents along my side. I had to make us official.”
