A 33-year-old woman is dead in Benton Township after she was found shot in the head Wednesday night.

Police were called to the area near Norton Avenue and East Napier Avenue, just after 9pm.

They found the woman lying on the ground outside a jeep on the side of the road.

A man, who was uninjured, was lying next to her.

Witnesses told police the two were arguing inside the jeep before the shooting.

Police have arrested the man and he now faces several charges, including open murder.
