YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pickup truck caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 Freeway Wednesday afternoon.

California Highway Patrol and CAL Fire were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on the right shoulder just before Harvard Road exit. The truck fire was reported about 2:38pm Wednesday, July 20, 2022 with flames coming from the engine compartment.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane, while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out. CHP issued the slow lane closed for about a half a hour due to the clean up and removal of the truck. The vehicle was reported to be a black GMC Sonoma pickup truck.

Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time. From reports the temperature was 110° this afternoon.
