Since June 2020, the South Wyaconda River Bridge, which is located four miles west of Brock on Route C, has been closed.
The timber structured bridge has been a mainstay in this area since it was built in 1936.
The bridge was closed after an inspection found significant deterioration.
After it closed the Missouri Department of Transportation's Historic Preservation Section was looking for proposals for the relocation or reuse of this bridge.
No proposals were submitted for the bridge by its February 2021 deadline.
The new bridge should be completed by early October.
Bleigh Construction Company, of Palmyra, Mo., is building the bridge.
Its total cost is just over $1 million.
