Funeral Services for Robert “Bob” Rice, age 70

Robert Lawrence “Bob” Rice, age 70, of Pine River, MN, passed away on July 16, 2022, at Maple Woods Assisted Living in Cohasset, MN, due to renal disease.

Services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 10:00 am MT at the United Methodist Church in Mullen, NE with Pastor Shanon Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Cedarview Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Monday, July 25th from 9:00 am to service time at the United Methodist Church in Mullen. An online guest book may be signed at govierbrothers.com. Govier Brothers Mortuary are assisting the family with the service in Mullen, NE. Services were performed earlier in Minnesota as well.  

Bob was born on September 23, 1951, in Winnebago, MN, to Sidney and Tillie (Wiese) Rice. He grew up in Minnesota and in the sandhills of Nebraska. On May 18, 1974, Bob married Debra Starr. They had two daughters, Becky and Tammy. Bob worked for Jim Peterson’s ranch north of Arnold, NE, at the 96 Ranch north of Brady, NE and at Big Creek Ranch north of Mullen, NE until it was sold. Bob then moved his family north of North Platte, NE working at the Hansen 77 Ranch for Tom Hansen. When he and Deb divorced, he and his daughters moved back to Mullen, NE. He worked for Quarter Circle Bar Ranch for 9 years. In 1985 Bob married and divorced Twila Lockhart. In 1987 Bob moved to Imperial, NE where he worked for Curly Olney Inc. Case IH. On March 22, 1988, Bob married Joyce Wynn. They had a daughter, Amanda. In 1992 Bob moved to Pine River, MN, where he started his own mechanic shop, Precision Mechanic. He ran his shop for many years until having his leg amputated. 

Bob loved his dogs, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and helping others fix their big equipment and vehicles.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Becky (Dave Hassett), Tammy (Ray) Boston, Amanda (Jeremy) Armstrong; grandchildren: Trey Seevers, Colten Seevers, Syras Boston, Sabryna Boston, Levi Seibert-Rice; and brothers, Jim (Charlene) Rice and Leo (Karen Vollmer) Rice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Tillie Rice; brothers, Lee Rice and Donald Rice; and niece, Sheila Rice.
