SingleThread, a three Michelin-starred farm-to-table experience in the heart of Healdsburg, was the only restaurant in the United States to make the list, proudly taking number 50 in the ranking.

Guests of the restaurant are treated to an 11-course tasting menu, showcasing Japanese cuisine through the seasonal bounty from the SingleThread Farm, located seven miles away from the restaurant.

SingleThread was chosen by a panel of 1,080 culinary experts who go through a structured, audited voting procedure each year to produce the annual World's 50 Best Restaurants.

"The annual list of the world's finest restaurants provides a snapshot of some of the best destinations for unique culinary experiences, in addition to being a barometer for global gastronomic trends," 50 Best wrote in a statement.

On the SingleThread Farm property, wife and husband duo farmer Katina Connaughton and chef Kyle Connaughton have a greenhouse, shade structures, loamy fields, chicken coops, an heirloom fruit orchard, olive trees, beehives, a cattle paddock and Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Chardonnay grape vines. The restaurant receives vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers, honey, eggs and olive oil from the farm.

"SingleThread is a destination restaurant in Northern Californian wine country that combines Kyle's unique Japanese cuisine with fresh ingredients grown on Katina's smallholding," 50 Best praised. "Paying tribute to ancient Japanese ryokans, or 'inns', the restaurant is an intimate setting where exquisite attention is paid to every detail."
