According to Perry Police, 76-year-old John Henry Houser was riding his bicycle northbound when a Ford Expedition hit him from behind.
According to a witness, the driver who was later identified as 50-year-old Jay Kelly Reaves of Hawkinsville, stopped his vehicle and pulled the bicycle from the grill before driving away.
The Expedition was found a short while later, abandoned on the side of Elko Road, near the Georgia National Fairgrounds, and Reaves was tracked from that location by a K-9 unit.
Reaves was arrested and is being held without bond, charged with vehicular manslaughter in the first degree.
